CODE OF CONDUCT : Classical Singer Sundays Performers

As a performer with Classical Singer Sundays, you are an integral part of the Classical Singer Sunday’s family.  Classical Singer Sundays aims to create an environment that is inclusive, respectful, and safe for everyone involved. This code of conduct outlines our expectations for behaviour and conduct during all interactions under the scope of performing with Classical Singer Sundays.

1. Respect and Inclusivity:

•           Treat everyone with respect, kindness, and dignity, regardless of their background, identity, or beliefs.

•           Embrace diversity and celebrate the unique talents and perspectives of all performers.

•           Avoid discriminatory language or actions, including but not limited to those based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, or ability.

2. Professionalism:

•           Arrive punctually for rehearsal and performances.

•           In the event of unforeseen lateness or absence, communicate promptly and courteously with organizers and volunteers.

•           Respect the accompanist by valuing their time and adhering to your scheduled rehearsal commitment

•           Offer assistance and support to fellow performers when needed.

•           Maintain a professional attitude towards Classical Singer Sundays in your public interactions, including sharing via social media platforms.

4. Safety and Well-being:

•           Always prioritise the safety and well-being of yourself and others.

•           Follow all safety protocols and guidelines provided by the association.

•           Classical Singer Sundays has zero tolerance  towards inappropriate behaviour (including harassment, bullying and victimisation). This may involve actions, words or physical gestures that could reasonably be perceived to be the cause of another person’s distress or discomfort. Unacceptable behaviour does not have to be face to-face, and may take many forms including written, telephone or e-mail communications or through social media.

•           Report any concerns or incidents regarding safety, bullying, harassment, or misconduct to the chairperson of committee representative immediately

5. Integrity and Responsibility:

•           Conduct yourself with honesty, integrity, and accountability in all interactions.

•           Adhere to the association’s rules, policies, and guidelines.

•           Take responsibility for your actions and their impact on others.

6. Confidentiality:

•           Respect the privacy and confidentiality of fellow performers, volunteers, and organizers. Including not sharing sensitive data such as phone contacts, addresses or email.

•           Refrain from posting names, photos, or videos of other performers to any social media accounts without their express consent

•           Do not share sensitive information or personal details of any person involved in Classical Singer Sundays

7. Resolving Conflicts:

•           Address conflicts or disagreements calmly, respectfully, and directly.

•           Speak to the Classical Singer Sundays Chairperson or a representative from the Classical Singer Sundays Committee if necessary to resolve conflicts or grievances

•           Refrain from engaging in or escalating confrontations or hostile behaviour.

8. Compliance:

•           Failure to adhere to this code of conduct may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of participation in performances.

By participating in Classical Singer Sunday’s performances, you agree to abide by this code of conduct and uphold the values of respect, inclusivity, and professionalism. Together, we can create a vibrant and supportive community where everyone can thrive and shine on stage.
