Operetta it’s not just G&S – 27 September 2026 – 2.00pm
Celebrating operetta in all its forms, this session shines a spotlight on the wit, charm, and theatrical brilliance of the genre. It’s not just G&S, far beyond the familiar world of Gilbert and Sullivan, singers will explore the sparkling melodies of Viennese operetta, the elegance and humour of the French and British traditions, and the rich variety of composers who shaped this much-loved art form. We’ll also discover works by these composers beyond the operetta stage, like Sullivan’s sacred works or Lehar’s Lieder revealing another side of their musical artistry.
Criteria:
Singers can choose songs from any operetta, or vocal works by composers known for their operettas.
